Welcome
The Stansted Pilots group welcomes
all children aged 5 – 18 years
The group meets fortnightly (apart from school
holidays) on Monday evenings from 6
to 7.30
pm in the church hall, and
there is a varied and interesting programme.
There is a subscription of £1.50 per evening per child.

New Directions in Worship
Having heard much about Pilot involvement in worship at the
URC Synod in early March, it seemed appropriate to invite our Pilots and their parents
to come along and join us in morning worship on 15th March. Allen
Morton came to our Pilot evening the previous
week, and suggested that we plan the service around Noah's Ark, as
that was our Bible story for that particular evening. We made the Ark and
placed it in the Church ready for the service, and we learnt some Noah songs to
sing on the day. Sylvia and Henry joined us for the service, along with several
Pilots and their parents
After the service everyone went outside for a photograph by
the newly erected Pilot plaque. Hopefully we will see more services like this
in the future.
Autumn Term
2010
We will be meeting on Mondays from 6 - 7.30 pm:
Sept 6th & 20th, Oct 4th &18th, Nov 1st,
15th & 29th, Dec 6th & 20th.
Henry Playle will be working with the older members and Lyndsey Barnes
plus other Pilot Officers on a rota system, will be looking after the junior
members. Henry is the Youth Co-ordinator for the Eastern Province of the URC, and is no stranger to our Pilot
Company as he has been working with us in a supportive capacity for a number of
years. As Valerie has to undergo two shoulder operations, she and Peter will be
unable to organise or lead the Pilot Sessions this term, but will be attending
meetings whenever possible. At Henry's suggestion, he is stepping in to keep
the group together at this time. We have a willing and capable team of officers
and helpers who will be supporting Henry during the coming months.
